Mansur Yavaş has resigned from the CHP

Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, has announced his resignation from the CHP. Yavaş said, “Due to certain statements made today, I am resigning from the Republican People’s Party and submit to the public’s judgement that I shall continue my political career as an independent.” Responding to remarks made by Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the CHP’s ‘absolute nullity’ administration, Yavaş said, “I have never regarded myself as being above political parties. I consider such a claim to be presumptuous.”
