This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is processed, with whom it is shared, and your rights when you use the Haberin mobile application ("App"). This policy is aligned with Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using the App, you accept the data processing activities described here.

Account and identity data: The App offers four sign-in methods: email/password, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, and guest (anonymous) session.
Google Sign-In uses your email, name, and profile photo; Apple Sign-In uses the identity token provided by Apple. If you choose Apple’s “Hide My Email,” we only see the relay email. In a guest session, an anonymous account can be created without an email; your preferences are tied to it and you can make the account permanent later.
Device and technical data: During authentication and notifications, we process platform (iOS/Android), operating system version, device brand and model, app version, and whether it is a physical device. This data is used for session security, compatibility, and diagnostics.
Push token: To send notifications, an FCM registration token for your device is processed. For non-signed-in users, an anonymous notification token is stored to send trending notifications. You can disable notifications at any time.
Location (country) data: The App does not request GPS/location permission and does not track your location. To show relevant news, country is determined by extracting only the country code from your IP address and by reading your device’s language/region setting. You can change the country manually in settings at any time.
Usage and preference data: Sources/categories/tags you follow, articles you save, theme-language-reading preferences, and in-app interactions for personalization.
Reading statistics and points: Your daily reading count and reading streak are stored only locally on your device. Points and leaderboard ranking calculated from activities are kept on the server.
Comments, reactions, and reports: When you post a comment, react, or report, the relevant content and time information is processed. Comments are subject to moderation.
Contact data: If you use the contact form or email us, your message and contact details are processed to respond to your request.
Analytics and crash data: Screen views and performance metrics are collected only with your explicit consent; analytics is off by default until you consent. In crash reports, personal data (email, IP, username, tokens) is automatically cleaned/masked before being sent.
The App uses the following third-party services for its functions, and they are subject to their own privacy policies:
Your personal data is not sold to third parties for advertising or marketing. Service providers process data only to provide the service assigned to them and only to the extent necessary.
You can update your consent preferences at any time from the Privacy Settings / Consent screen in the App.
Your personal data is retained for as long as necessary for the processing purpose and for the applicable legal retention periods; at the end of the period it is deleted or anonymized.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections in transit (HTTPS), storing passwords as hashes, access restrictions, and masking of personal data in logs. However, no data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Do not share your password with anyone.
You can create an account deletion request within the App or write to legal@ceviktech.com. We will conclude your request within the legal time frames.
Our services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe data about a child has been collected without permission, contact us; we will take steps to remove it.
Some service providers we use (Google, Apple, Sentry) may host their servers abroad. In that case, your data may be transferred abroad within the protective measures required by applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
